The following consultations are Bulk-Billed (i.e. the doctor claims the Medicare Rebate directly from Medicare, with no out of pocket cost for the patient).

 

  • Health Care Card and Pension Card holder medical consultations

  • DVA Card holder medical consultations

  • Medical consultations for children under 16 year of age

  • Health assessments (e.g. Healthy Kids Check, Over 75 Annual Health Check

  • Chronic Disease Management Plans, and their reviews.

Mon-Sat standard consultation $50 ($12.95 out of pocket)

 

Sunday and public holidays standard consultation $60 ($11 out of pocket)

 

The following services do not attract a Medicare Rebate (regardless of patient age or concession cards status), and therefore require full payment on the day:

 

  • Medical examinations for employment, drivers and taxi licenses, and insurance. They require a  30 minute appointment, and the fee is $90.

  • WorkCover consultations where a claim has not yet been accepted by the WorkCover insurer (i.e., a claim number has not been issued). TAC consultations, where the excess amount has not yet been reached. Initial consultations are $85, subsequent consultations are $65. 

  • Consultations where the patient is not eligible for a Medicare Card (e.g. overseas visitors). Standard consultation is $65.
