Fees & Billing Policy

Medicare rebates available for eligible patients. Payment is required at the time of consultation, and Medicare rebates can usually be processed electronically.

Bulk billing is available for pension and concession card holders, children aged 15 years and under, and eligible appointments including Chronic Disease Management Plans and Health Assessments. Bulk billing for other services may be available at the discretion of the treating doctor.

Please note that medical reports, employment and pre-employment medical examinations, procedures, and some other services may attract additional fees.

Appointments

All patients are seen by appointment. We request that each patient to be seen have their own appointment time. If you have an urgent medical problem, contact the clinic before 10am to assist us in arranging a same day appointment when available. Please report to the receptionist when you arrive and present your Medicare card and any concession cards. Patients are seen in order of their appointment; please do not arrive more than 10 minutes before you appointment time. Medical emergencies are given priority, and will be attended to by the first available doctor. If you have a complex problem or several issues to discuss with your doctor, please consider asking for a longer appointment. Mental Health and Chronic Disease Care Plans require a double appointment. Please tell the receptionist at the time of booking your appointment if you have a special purpose eg. insurance medical, minor procedures, Centrelink medical reports. Doctors at this clinic have access to telephone interpreter services. Please let the receptionist know at the time of booking your appointment so this can be arranged.

Telephone consultations

Telephone consultations may be available when clinically appropriate. To be eligible for a Medicare rebate for a telephone consultation, you must have had a face-to-face consultation at our practice within the previous 12 months (unless an exemption applies under Medicare rules).

Patient Test Results

Patients are required to make an appointment with their doctor to get test results. To protect your privacy, results will not be discussed over the phone, nor given to your family members. The clinic will contact you only if your results require urgent attention. Cervical screening test results are routinely added to the National Cancer Screening Register; please let your doctor know if you do not wish to participate.

Privacy

Doctors of Glenroy complies with the Privacy Act, including the way we collect, store, use and disclose health information. A copy of our Privacy Policy is available from our reception staff, or click the link at the bottom of the page to download. By law, patients may request a copy of their health records. A fee applies.
